HistorySync

How Note/History are Transferred
Basically, ACT-Outlook Synchronizer scans the notes/history for each contact in ACT! and merges them in the following manner:

Date
-------------------------------------------------
Note/History Type - The History Entry.
If attachment is connected to entry, the path to the attachment is added.

For example, below is a list of note/history that have been exported to Outlook:

(:::)
5/19/2004 7:59:00 PM
-------------------------------------------
Note - And WOW, this stuff actually works!!!

Note the "(:::)" Sync Marker in the Outlook note. Do not remove the (:::) Sync Marker! This indicates the beginning of the history that has been transferred from ACT! to the Outlook Body Text. Any additions and/or changes to the data in Outlook must be done above the indicator. When ACT-Outlook Synchronizer performs the synchronization, it will scan the body text and any text above the indicator is transferred to ACT! as a new history record. Hence, full synchronization of all the data.

Performance Issues
Synchronization of the history is a very compute intensive process. To speed up the synchronization, do the following:
·Set the date filter to be as close to the current date as possible.
·Clean up the Notes/History in ACT! so that it is not packed with data that slows down synchronization
