Indexes

The indexes options provide the user with the capabilities to normalize the indexes that match ACT! Items with Outlook Items. Clearing these indexes will eliminate any 1-to-1 matching between items in ACT! and Outlook. Three options are available
·Normalize Indexes. This instructs ACT-Outlook Synchronizer to scan the index files and evaluate the existence of ACT!/Outlook items that relate to the index entries. It will only keep index entries where both the ACT! and Outlook entries exist. This is a good way to make sure that all items in the index files are valid.
·Clear Contacts Index. This will clear the contact index file. All ACT!-Outlook matches are removed. Use this option if you want to start anew or have a new database. Warning: Duplicate contacts may be created in Outlook.
·Clear Activities Index. This clears the index that keeps track of appointments, meetings, todo's, calls, etc.. Use this option if you start with a new database. Warning: If you clear this index and re-synchronize, duplicate Outlook items will be created (if you are using the same database). Remove your Outlook activities if you clear the Activities Index.
